1.Before I use Fix-A-Flat® does the tire have to be completely flat?
No. The tire does not need to be completely flat. Fix-A-Flat® is designed to provide a temporary emergency repair that will allow you to safely travel to a tire repair facility. It is not designed as a permanent solution. Fix-A-Flat® will not repair sidewall or severe damage, large punctures or cracks in wheels or rim leaks.
2.Once I have used Fix-A-Flat® to repair my tire should I add more air?
Yes, Fix-A-Flat® will seal small punctures and fill the tire with enough tire pressure to get you back on the road. Immediately drive the car for at least 2-4 miles and visit a gas station to fill your tire with the proper amount of air pressure as soon as possible. Visit a qualified tire professional at the earliest opportunity for a permanent repair.
3. While filling my tire with Fix-A-Flat® some product got on the wheel, how can I remove it?
While the Fix-A-Flat® product is in a liquid state, it is water soluble and can be removed with a paper towel or rag or preferably, soap and water. Once it has dried Fix-A-Flat® must be removed using odorless, mineral spirits (normally available at hardware stores).
4. After using Fix-A-Flat® can my tire be repaired?
Yes, there is nothing in the formulation that would prevent a tire from being repaired. Advise the tire repair professional that you have used Fix-A-Flat® brand tire inflator in your tire, so they may properly clean the tire for repair.
5. Can Fix-A-Flat® be used to seal my air mattress, football, basketball or inflatable pool?
No. Fix-A-Flat® is not recommended for those applications. Fix-A-Flat® is recommended for use on (non-Z rated, non-motorcycle) vehicle tires only.
6. Why can't Fix-A-Flat® be used in bicycles, high performance, motorcycle or Z-rated tires?
Fix-A-Flat® is not intended for these type of tires.
7. Can Fix-A-Flat® freeze?
Yes, if the temperature falls below 32 degrees Fahrenheit it will freeze. The product in the can is not damaged and may be used after thawing. If the product is in the tire, and freezing weather is predicted, then immediately take the vehicle to a qualified tire professional for repair.
8. Can Fix-A-Flat® ruin my tire?
No. Fix-A-Flat® will not cause harm to most tires when used as directed on the label.
9. Where is the best place to store my Fix-A-Flat® can?
The best place to store a Fix-A-Flat® can is in the spare tire well or trunk.
